Now powered by a “printer farm” with a range of print volumes and robust modeling software, we exist to provide innovators, craftsmen, and manufacturers with the design, prototyping, and 3D printing services they need to excel in meeting their production needs.

It is a joy to create useful, tangible things that make life work better. Dennis approaches every project from a strong background in quality, chemical, and process engineering earned during his years at 3M Company; Hutchinson Technology, Inc.; and California’s Naval Warfare Assessment Division. Having grown up and farmed in southwest Minnesota, he also approaches every project with the practicalities of a farm shop in mind. From lab to production floor to farm shop, Dennis’ experience helps him understand the unique requirements of small manufacturers. He created DMI 3D to support the needs of solo inventors and small manufacturers.
For Dennis, happily living and working on a farm with a not-so-secret hobby of managing a flock of chickens raises the inscrutable question, “Why do they eat the hostas?”
